Declaration of policy for social responsibility and working conditions

Ballarini Paolo & Figli S.p.A., manufacturer of aluminium pans with antacid internal lining, considering that the company is not a simple manufacturing business, but is also a large growth factor in the socio-economic environment in which it operates, is of the opinion that the “Social Responsibility” of the Company (“SR”), meaning the integration of social and ethical concerns into the management of the company and into its commercial relations with its customers/suppliers, constitutes a crucial instrument for ensuring development of the company activity which takes account of social needs, for the purposes of the competitivity of the company.

It therefore undertakes, in particular:

  • to comply with all the requirements of Regulation SA 8000:2008 and all those otherwise signed up to by the company, in order to promote the defence of human rights, ensure the protection of health and safety in the workplace, prevent and/or combat all forms of discrimination;

  • to comply with national laws and other laws in force, and to also comply with the international documents (ILO Conventions as well as the Declarations and Conventions of the United Nations), as listed in Section II of Regulation SA 8000:2008;

  • to pursue the objective of continual improvement of its services regarding “Social Responsibility” of the Company;

  • to ensure that the application of Regulations SA 8000:2008 is effectively documented, implemented, kept active, communicated and is accessible in an understandable form to all staff, including directors, executives, managers, supervisors, and the manual workforce, whether directly employed, with a contract, or otherwise representing the company

  • to ensure that the company Policy regarding Social Responsibility is exhibited in a place which is easily visible and that it is available to the public

  • to develop socially responsible working processes, taking into consideration above all compliance with the principles of the protection of workers, the community and the environment

  • to favour the professional development of its employees

  • to assess, select and check the suppliers, also as regards compliance with the legal requirements, and to steer them towards a management policy which takes human rights into account to a greater extent, influencing their behaviour and increasing their ethical-social quality
