Countdown to the Expo: Ballarini speaker at the 26th national ANDID congress
Dietitians and new areas of clinical-nutritional intervention, technology and healthcare. The 3 days of the most eagerly awaited annual event held by the Italian Association of Dietitians (ANDID) were very well attended with over 300 industry members from all over Italy converging on the Conference Centre of the Hotel Sheraton in Padua. The talk by Prof. Claudia Sorlini, Chairman of the Expo 2015 Scientific Committee, was extremely interesting and illustrated the future frontiers of food, involving new technologies and the protection of consumers. This was followed by a presentation by Francesco Ferron, director of the Ballarini plant, who outlined the latest developments in terms of cooking utensils and techniques for innovating in the kitchen. The focal point of his talk was the new Kerastone Profi Granite coating, reinforced with mineral particles, which guarantees perfect searing at low temperatures, preserving the flavours and nutritional properties of food.
